Ethereum Exchange Reserve Remains Low: Potential Bullish Indicator for ETH Price
On-chain data reveals that the Ethereum Exchange Reserve, which tracks the total ETH held in wallets linked to centralized exchanges, has recently maintained low levels, similar to those seen in 2016. Analysts interpret this as a potentially bullish sign for the ETH price, as a decrease in the reserve suggests investors are not depositing tokens for selling purposes, thereby reducing bearish pressure on the market.
Ethereum Shows Signs of Rebound as Exchange Supply Hits Record Low: Santiment
Ethereum has outperformed the broader crypto market over the past 24 hours, reaching a 12-day high of $2,832 before pulling back to $2,720 in early trading on Feb. 18, according to blockchain analytics firm Santiment. The move represents a 2% daily gain for ETH, while the total crypto market capitalization has declined by 2.4%, signaling relative strength for Ethereum. Santiment analysts noted that Ethereum has started to show signs of a rebound, adding that it has been outpacing most altcoins to start the week. The renewed momentum comes after months of underperformance relative to other large-cap cryptocurrencies.
Hyperliquid Launches EVM-Compatible HYPE Tokens, Prepares for Native Ethereum Token Transfers
Hyperliquid, a chain designed for fast derivative trades, has announced its preparation for native transfers of Ethereum-based tokens. The decentralized exchange (DEX) derivative platform has recently launched its Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) layer, introducing two versions of its native token, HYPE. HyperEVM, the Ethereum-compatible platform within Hyperliquid, is already operational, albeit with limited token capabilities. However, an upcoming update promises to enable native transfers of ERC-20 tokens. Hyperliquid's ambition is to offer speedy on-chain derivative trading that is compatible with various token ecosystems while maintaining low costs and high speed. With this latest development, HyperEVM is building its own Layer 2 (L2) system, leveraging its native Layer 1 (L1) for execution through its standard block consensus mechanism. This允许the DEX ecosystem to foster its own decentralized finance (DeFi) sector, utilizing HYPE as the primary gas token.
